Let me guess... You started your business because you wanted financial freedom but you've stopped listening to the weekly calls, stopped making lists of people to contact to host parties or do your sales pitch to. You post about it a few times a week but now instead of saying " I sell this, would you like to learn more?" It has now turned into "I sell this on the side..."
When did becoming financially free become a hobby? You were gun hoe about your business, you passed out your business cards to everyone you met, you were handing out samples like you were Oprah around Christmas. You get a sample, you get a sample, everyone gets samples!
Now if someone asks for a card you dig through your purse for 20 minutes just to end up scribbling your number on a Kleenex, because it seems professional enough, right?
So now that the honeymoon with your business is over... It's time to rekindle that love.
First, make a list of the reasons why you started your business in the first place. Second, make your dream board. Hell, take a day off work just to practice what it would be like to control your own time. Third, make a new list...not of the people you contact everyday but of the people you haven't talked to in awhile, the people who haven't been burned out by all your Facebook posts. The people where you wonder where they even are now. Then, start finding unique places to put your link and info about your business so that it is always visible, your email signature, cover photo, awards at work, pictures of you with friends at events sponsored by your company, pass out discounts with little thank you notes to service people like hairstylists, waitresses, door men, etc.
Use your business to your advantage to create new relationships. Try to come up with a new way to promote every week, challenge yourself and grow!
As the Porters once said, "you can make a million dollars or a million excuses," which one is it going to be?

Every story needs a beginning
Alright...
So here's the deal. We are going to call this my accountability, venting, idea generating and most importantly sanity keeping blog...and to keep it useful for you, I will try to add some advice in here too. For those of you who know me, you know that I have my hands full.
For those of you who don't, let me shine a little light on the topic. We have three wonderful children 6, 2 and 4 months. I work full time doing marketing for a university and then my husband and I own a business that sells just about everything under the sun. I'm not over exaggerating either. Seriously, TVs, fireplaces, essential oils, jewelry and much more! In addition, I am starting graduate school at the end of the month. I am overly excited. I believe that life is about learning and I am really interested in getting my next degree.
I've tried to blog in the past but let's be real...I've wrote about one every other year for the past 6 years...so my three blog posts makes me an expert, right? (Insert relevant keywords here)
All sarcasm aside, although blogging goes in the same category as healthy eating and working out for me, something I know I want to do every single day but in the past has been put off, now is the time. That's where you come in, feel free to harass me and see where I have been. I mean what are friends for?
Welcome to my world, hope you get a laugh and maybe some useful types once in awhile!
